Find Your Way Back Home

Don’t let the rhythm become a rut

NB. I was watching the Netflix movie “Still Time” last night which inspired me to write this article.

Do you find yourself working harder and longer but still needing to be fulfilled? Are you stuck in the same old routine, feeling like life is passing you by? It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee.

Maybe you’re a stay-at-home mom who devotes all her time and energy to caring for her children and running her household. You may be a college student who spends most of his time studying and working part-time jobs. Or you’re a successful marketing executive who prides herself on working long hours and being highly productive.

We live in a world that values working long hours, productivity, and busyness above all else. We’re taught that success comes from working harder, learning more, and doing more. But at what cost? As we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we lose sight of what truly matters. We may get lost in distractions or trivial matters or neglect or forget them.

We need to return to our roots, to the things that nourish us and make us who we are. Don’t let work and other obligations take over your life. They are like step-parents, paramount, vital but not the ones who made you.

And what essential pursuit can center us and bring us back to our true selves? Philosophy. It challenges us to reflect on our beliefs and actions, hold ourselves accountable, and to strive for greatness.

So don’t be fooled by the momentum of your daily life. Don’t let your rhythm become a rut. Instead, embrace the philosophy, challenge your assumptions, reconnect with your creativity, regain a sense of balance, and make it your home. It’s time to pay your respects and return to what truly matters.

Spread the word. Share your love.
