Being offensive is to use force to secure a goal and eliminate the factors preventing it. Being defensive is to use force to make the threats go away and thus prevent yourself from getting injured. Which one would you choose?
Remember that the more you run for fortune, the more you want it, the more you struggle, and the more vulnerable you become to the fear of losing it, and therefore, you keep choosing offense. Only a few who choose offense are surrounded by their loved ones.
On the other hand, philosophy helps us to tame our greed. So you’re not fearful of losing your fortune; instead, you have control over it. You’re on defense, all ready for it.
