Why get worked up?

  • Heard of Iron Man? The actor who played the role, Robert Downey Jr, had a period of substance abuse. Look where he’s at right now? He changed his life. Your present circumstances don’t define where you can go in life. Events are just events. Period. But, whether you want to stay in that position and be under stress is a choice.

  • Some people judge and describe their entire life with just one perception of their current situation. If they lost a job? They’re a loser. But, If they got it? They’re brilliant. But, events in our lives are subjective as you choose what you want to make of them. You can add a wrong perception to it and make your life unbearable. You can react and cry, but that won’t improve the situation. So, why not change your perspective and make your experience good?

  • “Circumstances” are incapable of caring for your feelings. They don’t care at all. So, there is no reason to get worked up since the situation won’t change, and you getting enraged doesn’t help you better the situation. If you or your life is broken, accept it, fix it and focus on what you can do and what you can change.

But that’s just my take. Comment and share yours.
