Hope = Fear

  • People say hope is more powerful than fear and that hope is good, and fear is bad. But to a stoic, they are both the same. Both of them are the enemies of this present moment that you are currently living. Hope and fear both have wants and worries, and it’s your wants that cause you stress. So, do you want to worry less? Then have fewer wants.

  • Hope and fear are projections of a future that may or may not happen. Thus, learn to love your fate, start accepting uncertainty, and practice mindfulness meditation. Don’t overanalyze too much and create something that doesn’t exist and you don’t wish. Can you still recall your worries from the last year or the year before?

  • We all have fears, but the only way to remove your fear is by facing them. So, if you’re scared of heights, then go skydiving. Are you afraid of water? Learn swimming. Terrified of public opinion, start multiple businesses. Look up to those people you admire and study the statistical evidence. You don’t get to live this exact moment twice, so don’t waste it in fear and hope. Live it.

But that’s just my take. Comment and share yours.

Spread the word. Share your love.
