What will become of you?

  • If you only hang out with junkies, what will become of you? What will become of you if you only hang out with serious bodybuilders? The people we surround ourselves with are the most significant influence on our behavior, attitudes, and decisions. Who you are around, what they’ve got you thinking, saying, and doing sets the course of your life. We are the average of the people we spend most of our time with, and the company we keep now can help us predict our future.

  • When we were kids, we considered every acquaintance as a good friend. But we’re not kids anymore. Building relationships takes time, and we have a limited quantity of it. Ask yourself and analyze what you got now. Do your friends encourage you and push you forward? Do they make you any better? Do they hold you accountable? Do you get positive vibes from your friends? Can you trust them?

  • Don’t become something you are not. There’s no need to fit in with your current or old friends if they don’t have the same values. There’s no need to party and drink all night if that’s something you don’t want to. If you spend time with people you don’t want to, then how will you get time to find the right people?

  • My guess is all your friends probably lie in the same tax bracket and earn almost as much as you. But, if you want to level up, make friends with people on the next level. People you associate yourself with have a significant impact on your life and success. So, choose quality over quantity always.

  • Choose people who have good character and values. Choose those who are dependable, who can stand by you through thick and thin. Choose those who genuinely care for you and give you support and counsel. Choose people who have the same life purpose as you. Choose those who don’t get jealous when you go big or do something out of your comfort zone. Choose people who push you to be a better version of yourself.

  • Now, you have two choices – either you can become a better person at the cost of your current friends or stay the same and continue doing what you do. But, before anything else, when you find your right people, be good yourself before expecting them to be.

But that’s just my take. Comment and share yours.
