Are you hiding behind your books?

  • Whenever you start a book, set an intent. Why are you reading this particular book? What do you want to gain? You don’t have to read the whole library to gain wisdom, so don’t rush through meaningful passages, and don’t read books just for the sake of reading.

  • Most of us have a terrible memory, and it’s better if we apply the concepts we learn instead of reading multiple books or re-reading the same book. Rather, only revisit the book that has influenced you significantly. As you change, the meaning inside the books you read also change.

  • But are you hiding behind your books? Don’t fool yourself that you’re being productive by reading a book. Instead, get active, move forward, leave the book, create action plans and apply your learnings to your life. The knowledge you gain is meaningless if you don’t use it to better your life.

But that’s just my take. Comment and share yours.
