Stoic of the Day shares practical philosophy for everyday life. Before you put any of it to use, here is some important context about what this site is, and what it is not.
Everything on this site is offered for general education and reflection. It represents our reading of Stoic philosophy and our own thoughts on living well. It is not professional advice of any kind, including medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, or financial advice, and it should not be treated as such.
Several articles touch on anxiety, anger, grief, fear, and other hard human experiences. Stoic practices can genuinely help with the ordinary weight of these things, and we share them in that spirit. But they are not a treatment for any condition, and not a replacement for professional care.
If you are struggling with persistent or severe distress, please talk to a qualified doctor or mental health professional. If you are in crisis or may be in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line in your country right away. Reaching for real help is one of the most genuinely Stoic things a person can do.
We take care with our sources and quote the Stoics from public-domain translations. Even so, we cannot guarantee that everything here is complete, current, or free of error. Philosophy is interpreted, translations differ, and we may occasionally get something wrong. Use your own judgment, and verify anything that matters.
Some pages contain affiliate links, including through the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This helps support the site. We only recommend things we believe are worth your attention, and a commission never changes what we choose to recommend.
This site links to other websites for your convenience and interest. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Visiting them is your own decision.
