Cause and Effect

Cause and Effect

  • Each of us has a way of doing things. Sometimes we do it every day for weeks, sometimes even months. Unless we change, we keep eating the same food, working out the same way, hanging around the same people, and acting the same way. Our habits become so ingrained that we forget why we have them in the first place.

  • Every day we think thousands of thoughts, but only a few of them are worth pondering. Why do we think the way we do?  Did they ever cause us to make mistakes or engage in behaviors that we regret?

  • Every action is thought-driven, so observe your thoughts and the actions they cause. It’s possible to break negative behavior patterns by monitoring your thoughts and directing them in a more positive direction.

  • Your favorite musicians didn’t become famous overnight; they spent years practicing. You are successful or not for a reason. Only by putting in the effort can someone become skilled at something, and that effect reflects the effort.

  • There is a reason for everything that happens. If you take away the cause, the result will disappear.  The Earth is getting warmer - know why? Are you becoming fat - what’s the cause? Losing money or a relationship - why is that? Every effect has a cause. Figure that out. If you can figure out the root cause, you can find a solution.

  • Think about why you do what you do  for a moment before you take action. Study human nature, behavior, and how others react. Do not just observe your own pattern; watch and learn from the practices of others as well. Watch others to learn about yourself.

  • You are doing what you are doing right now for some reason. Find out those reasons. Furthermore, anything you do now is a root cause that will have an impact on your future.  Consider what effect it will have.

But that’s just my take. Comment and share yours.
