Conditional Happiness

Conditional Happiness

  • Even though most things on social media are dramatically embellished, we believe that we need to go to a tourist place or be as physically attractive and successful as social media influencers to be HAPPY. If so, why do poor, homeless people seem to be having fun and sunny most of the time? Clearly, happiness is a choice.

  • Many of us put conditions on our happiness - claiming that we’ll be more comfortable once we pay off debt, graduate , or get six-pack abs. Some of us equate our satisfaction with the number of expensive cars, clothes, and collectibles we can buy but forget that we can lose any of them in an instant.

  • Our constant yearning for more and better is the enemy of our contentment. But, life is not about having more things to enjoy; it’s about enjoying life with the things you already have. There will always be something better out there, so don’t let your happiness depend on things you can buy.

  • Being content doesn’t mean that you have to stop striving to improve yourself. Nuh-hu. It means to be happy with who you are right now and do what you enjoy without conditions. It means to be happy now.

But that’s just my take. Comment and share yours.
