Acceptance

You can't always get what you want.

  • We got a wide variety of wants , from being loved by all to being physically attractive to having romance and status. We want to save money but visit exotic places.  We want to be successful but procrastinate and relax. We desire meaningful relationships but are not ready for the work and compromise that comes with them.

  • We can’t always get what we want since  there are endless things that our heart desires. We can’t always get what we want because we don’t have a set priority. The things we most desire aren’t always clear to us.

  • It is often said that money can buy everything. But even billionaires can’t get what they want if what they desire can’t be purchased with money.

  • The wants we have change all the time.  The wants you had years ago may not be the same as the wants you have now.

  • Your discipline determines whether you choose what you want most in the long run  OR if you give in to your current desires and choose what you want right now.

  • The grass is always greener on the other side. It’s much better to accept your fate  and everything that comes with it. Get motivated, be happy for others, learn from them, make them your mentor, and determine your level of desire for something.

  • You cannot compare yourself to others. They made different choices and desired different things.  Would you be willing to sacrifice like the people you compare yourself to? They may have given up on relationships, life experiences, and other things you already have. So, is it even worth it for you?  Can you do without what they have that you want?

  • Don’t just think about the things you want. Don’t just focus on where you lack and your failures. Also, think about things you already have. Appreciate what you have.

  • Be present in your life and limit your desires. If you limit your desires, want what you already have, and enjoy what you already have, you will have it all.  There is nothing else that matters to you.

But that’s just my take. Comment and share yours.
