Your wants make you a servant

Your wants make you a servant

  • Some of us work multiple jobs, not because we want to, but because we just bought a new car or got a mortgage that needs to be paid off. We work day in and day out for people we don’t like and do jobs we dislike just so we can maintain our social status and buy extra things  that we may or may not need.

  • What we want controls us ** and makes us who we are. By wanting the money, we become a servant to those who have it , as we constantly need their approval. In other words, don’t ask for money for things you really really want because no one can have power over you if you do not wish anything from them**.

  • If you can afford it, work for free and live on less until people accept you and your work. You can’t ignore money entirely, but if you keep your desires to a minimum, you’ll have it all since “nothing” else is what you want.

  • Our behavior is influenced by society and how everyone around us wants us to behave. Just because we want others to accept us, we modify our behavior and thus give them power over us.  Sadly, some of us only realize this too late when  we forget who we are, while others never do.

  • Live with what’s necessary.  The majority of things in life only bring physical and emotional attachment, most of which are the result of effective marketing tactics.

  • Someone who wants millions of dollars won’t be satisfied with a few thousand. Understand that not every desire is worth the pursuit, and many desires only lead to an unfulfilled existence. Your freedom lies in your wants.

But that’s just my take. Comment and share yours.
