You're Not Famous

You’re not famous, and that’s unlikely to change.

More than 100 billion people have lived and died on Earth—really, how many of them were famous?

So, why treat your hobbies like they’re for an audience that frankly does not exist?

Create not for applause, but for your own joy. When passion fuels your hobbies, not profit, every moment spent is a masterpiece of personal satisfaction.

Do things for your own joy, not for likes or follows.

Forget crafting a personal style in your hobbies—nobody’s really watching, and that’s freeing.

Enjoy the liberty to experiment. Your style should evolve as you explore new things, not conform to an imagined gallery you created on your social media accounts.

Finally, what’s the fastest way to kill your passion? Start scheming about how to monetize it.

If you’re immediately thinking about how to cash in, you’re missing the point of a hobby.

Hobbies are about exploration and enjoyment, not income.

Take it from me; I started my blog, stoicoftheday.com, in 2019 for fun. But once I even thought about monetizing it, the joy vanished.

I’ve learned it’s better to create without financial pressures. So, make money elsewhere.

Pursue what thrills you for your own satisfaction and set personal goals, not for an imaginary audience. Your happiness is the truest measure of success in any endeavor.
